The workshop: A Closer Look at Aircraft jointly hosted by Visionworks of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) and iCenter Tsinghua lasted from May 26 to 27, offering a place for teachers and students to learn from and communicate with workers and designers in aircraft manufacturing.

They visited Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd. At its meeting room, workers gave lectures about their daily work and the assembly of aircraft and participants were informed of some cooperation projects. Then, they gained an experience of the application of VR technology and explored answers to questions concerning the use of AR and CR technology in manufacturing aircraft. They also went to have a look at the ARJ21 assembly line and how it was made.

The workshop was a great success and we hope that the participants would integrate what they’ve seen, learned, and experienced into their future design.
